Paul Norenberg, Roger Norenberg, Nancy Anklan and Knute Norenberg own the family business, Northern Manufacturing. It started in 1954 in Prescott, WI by Paul’s father Knute Norenberg and two business partners. The business moved to its current location in 1957 at the encouragement of Grantsburg leaders.

They produce Northern manufactured custom wood shutters and fine upholstered furniture. Furniture was phased out in 1987 due to demand of shutters. Recently they expanded their woodworking expertise to other endeavors. They have made soap dishes, cutting boards and are exploring hardwood flooring and trim.
Their customers include interior designers, builders and other people in the home remodeling trade. Nothern Manufacturing has developed additional products by request .
